“Dajla is a young artist who knows how to choose her godfathers. The presence by her side of major artists such as Angelo Moore (from the US band Fishbone), JC (the genius Wax Tailor) or Jean-Louis Brossard (Director of the international Transmusicales Festival) give “Soul Poetry” a very  special flavor.

Our curiosity turns into straightforward approval as soon as we hear the first bars of “River Tigris”. A syncopated intro in the style of the silkiest productions of US band Soulquarians. A graceful tone of voice and a surprising mastery of Afro-American soul which makes us think of Lizz Wright or Jill Scott. A similar sensuality, lyrics that make us feel good, and a production made by Benjamin Bouton who could easily compete with his US counterparts, guardians of the Soul temple. Considering the French music landscape, and its terrible lack of personality, there is a place under the sun, and Dajla has vibrantly and delicately earned it. “
